We needed to pick ourselves up after Saturdays game and show the desire, committment and enthusiasm that I believe we have.
We started bright but conceded an early goal which did nothing for our confidence.
Whelleys approach was typical of all our encounters, big kick from the goalie we failed to deal, pacy striker runs onto it and scores.
The frustration of everyone is there to see and we are now playing for pride.
My personal pride has taken a massive blow over the past few weeks and I have to take most of the responsibility for the teams performance.
However what I will not accept is behaviour whereby people appear to give up just because things arent going our way.
Wearing your club colours is an honour not a god given right, decisions to change players through the match are for the good of the team NOT the individual player.
Be prepared to be substituted or dont bother turning up!
I will give you all the encouragement you need but dont get angry with each other, channel that aggression in a controlled manner into the game and make your opponents fearful of you.
We have 6 games left to play so please make the most of it, you never know what will happen, both on and off the pitch.
Man of the match tonight with an outstanding defensive performance, to prove that size doesnt matter was Sam.
